- HELP ON THE GAME: If you do not see help on the item you are having
issues with, click on the icon to go to that area then navigate the arrows
to the item you need help with. (for instance if you need help with PRINTING
while the help screen is up OR if you need help with adding "my head" go
to "KIN" then use the arrows to get to the "my/yer" items).
- CHANGE BACKGROUND: Put your cursor on the background image, it
turns to a hand. Hold down left mouse button and scroll up or down to the
desired background.
- MOVE ITEM: click on item with LEFT mouse button drag it to desire
location (you will notice while the cursor is over the item it will match
the icon for that item).
- RESIZE: While over the item press and hold down the SPACE BAR on
the keyboard as you hold down the left mouse button and scroll up or down.
- ROTATE: While over the item press and hold down the SHIFT KEY on
the keyboard as you hold down the left mouse button and scroll up or down.
- CHANGE ORDER: to put an item IN FRONT of another, hold the cursor
over the desired item to move to the front (notice what the cursor changes
to) then, right click on the item. It will come to the front.
- ITEM DISAPPEARED: You may have right clicked on something BIGGER
and it is now over top of the item you are looking for. You can move the
bigger item out of the way, RIGHT CLICK on the smaller hidden item to bring
it to the front and then move the bigger item back where it was. ALSO you
may have dragged an item off of the area inside the frame and it is no longer
visible (this is also how to get rid of items you no longer want in your
scene). If there is not another of the same item available you will have
to click the dreaded "do-over", hang your head in shame and start all over
again.
- MUSIC: If'n you hates our music or it ain't loud enough fer ya,
jist use that thar slide on the left of the frame.
- INSERT YOUR OWN IMAGES: virtual REDNECK gives you three
image format options. (.jpg, .pct and .png) .PCT and .PNG with an alpha
channel will give you the BEST results. If you opt for a JPG you need create
a plain white background behind the image (around the head for example).
You can use an image-editing program (such as PhotoPlus5 included
with game). You can also cut around the image and scan it in on a white
background or take the picture in front of a white background (this is the
least convincing method). The optimal sizes for each is as follows:
(all sizes based on 72 dpi)
- My/Yer head 156 X 177 pixels OR 2 X 2.5 inches
- All of me/you 158x495 pixels OR 2.2 inches X 6.8 inches
- MyDawg 494 x 294 OR 6.5 inches X 4 inches
- My car: 531 X 236 OR 7 x 3 inches
- My whole house 640X480 OR 8.5 X 6.5 (this one doesn't need a white background)
- My house 442 X 226 OR 6 x 3 inches The sizes of your images do not have
to be EXACTLY the same as these but they should be the same shape (taller
than wide, square, wider than tall) ALPHA CHANNELS will give you the best
results the JPG images will leave little white "jaggies" around the image.
An alpha channel is what allows your image to have a transparent background.
If you are using a PNG or PCT and you still have a white background around
your image then, you do not have an alpha channel (be sure to check your
saving preferences and to save the image as 32 bit).
- ADDING EXTRA IMAGES: If you want to add more images than you have
placeholders for, use other area or the other format. For instance if you
want to add 4 different heads and you are only given my and yer you can
save 2 different images for "my" if you save one as a .PNG and one as a
.PCT. OR you can save one as "my dawg" instead (just don't tell the person
whose head you saved as "my dawg" that you did it).
- MY IMAGES ARE NOT SHOWING UP: You MUST save them in the "MyPitchurs"
folder with the EXACT name as the ones already there. After you have these
images on your computer you will need to save them as or rename them as
the exact name in the folder C:\Program Files\Virtual Redneck on your computer
(the default install directory). The file names MUST BE THE EXACT SAME AS
THE ONES ALREADY IN THIS FOLDER (not in the masters folder) The masters
folder contains copies of the default placeholders. To restore the images
simply COPY the images in the masters folder into theC:\Program Files\Virtual
Redneck folder on your computer. NOTE: if you did not install to the default
directory you will place these images in the folder you DID install to.
